The documents have arrived and there are twenty six of them! They are in very good condition and I am so excited...........
I have transcribed one already, an indenture dated 1781. It was the transfer of Swineshead Manor from Sir William Wolesley Baronet, who had inherited it through his wife when his father-in-law, Zachary Chambers died. It was leased to Thomas Holroyd of Coventry Street, St James, Westminster.
However the sun was shining today and the weather had warmed up a bit, so I felt duty bound to go outside and do a bit of gardening. I also had to go round my street collecting the Cancer Charity envelopes, which I do each year, so I haven't done another one yet. As there are 26 of these documents it will take me some time to get through them all. They are a bit difficult to read in places - but no rush - it's my new project.
