I have just been to the Church Hall to give a talk to the local cub group about King John who was poisoned at Swineshead Abbey after losing his treasure in the Wash. They are a very new group who only started last September and the young woman who runs it desperately needs a couple of volunteers to help her. She is being assisted temporarily by members of the Kirton team, but only has this help for a few more months.

If anyone reading this lives in Swineshead or thereabouts and would like to volunteer, please do go along and talk to Clare, the leader, at 6.30pm on a Thursday in the Church Hall, Market Place, Swineshead. I'm sure she would be very grateful for any help you can give her.

I think the children enjoyed my talk, but of course the thing they found most interesting was the whereabouts of the treasure and the likelihood of it ever turning up!
